September Meeting: Bob Schamerhorn “Birds In Action”

Join us Monday, September 10, at the James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Rd., Williamsburg at 6:30 p.m. Bob Schamerhorn will offer a new presentation called Birds In Action. “Moving objects are an especially difficult subject to capture, both technically and physically. This multimedia program demonstrates and discusses an array of bird activities including: flight, take-off, landing, feeding, bathing, drinking, preening, diving, nesting, and more. Includes both basic photography techniques and then fine tuning the skills needed to capture sharp images of active animals.

TUESDAY August 7 Meeting: John Whistler “Tips on Garden Photography”

Join us TUESDAY, August 7, at the James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Road, Williamsburg. John Whistler, local gardener, photographer, and owner of Whistler Works Studio, will present “Tips on Garden Photography” at our next meeting on Tuesday, August 7th.  This presentation will give those gardeners who want to capture photos of the flora and fauna in their gardens or elsewhere basic and advanced suggestions to improve their images. May 7 Meeting: Ken Conger “Four Continents of Critters”

Join us Monday evening, May 7, when wildlife photographer Ken Conger will present a buffet of spectacular photos captured during his 2017 adventures to Ecuador, Kenya, Rwanda, India, Alaska as well as some western US national parks. In 2017 Ken concentrated on capturing some unique images and two special species on his “Bucket List”. Ken compliments his photos with stories, animal facts, audio and short videos. The program provides a view of a wildlife photographer’s world and the challenges taken to capture stunning wildlife images.

April 2 Meeting: Billy Dodson

From Billy: “This will be the story of how wildlife photography expanded my world view and changed my life’s focus. The presentation will incorporate a brief discussion on the status of key species, a much longer segment with many photographs documenting the key reserves between northern Kenya and the Kalahari, and a short summation of the impact of photography on the preservation of wildlife.
